The garden

Willowdale Farm is 33 acres of beautiful countryside located less than 12 minutes from the historic town square of Oxford, Mississippi and 8 minutes from the Ole Miss campus. It is home to Robert Wilson, a furniture designer/builder, and his dog and best friend, “John Brown”.

With a true passion for the farming ways of previous generations, Robert began planning and constructing the buildings and grounds in 1992. As owner and caretaker, he continues to manage and maintain all aspects of the farm, including The Barn Loft Bed and Breakfast located on the property.

Willowdale offers a slower, more old fashioned way of life, where vegetables are organically grown and preserved, fresh eggs are gathered, hay is cut and baled, fruit trees bloom, and a few nubian goats graze in the lower pasture. There are various buildings and outbuildings on the place including Robert's furniture design/build studio, and the main structure, a large red roofed barn which contains The Barn Loft Bed and Breakfast, a favorite hideaway for many visitors, alumni, and friends of Oxford and Ole Miss and to lots of wayward travelers.

The farm was designed to not only be a place to raise food, live, and work, but also to be a place of beauty and refuge from an increasingly loud and complicated world.
